Technical Services Support Engineer

Active SC clearance required to start

Day rate £475

Inside of IR35

Location Telford

1 day a week on site - rest WFH

Start date 1st September (some flexibility)

We require an experienced Technical services support engineer to join a large team helping support remote technical servers and payloads.

Mandatory skills:

  • At least 5-10 years' experience of supporting (2nd to 3rd Line) backups of servers and virtual payloads.
  • Good knowledge of backup and restore technologies.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication.
  • Have a proven problem solving ability.
  • Proactive approach to personal workload management.
  • Awareness of the ITIL Service Management framework and specifically incident and change management.

Desirable skills:

  • Use and support of any backup software and storage appliances (ideally Veritas NetBackup and HP but not mandatory).
  • Use and support of backups in a VMWare environment.
  • General knowledge of supporting backups on various server operating systems - Windows, Linux (RHEL & SLES), AIX and Solaris.
