The Role:
As a User Experience and Product-Wide Quality Engineer, you will evaluate and enhance our product from the user's perspective across MLOps, Data Science, and AI application development. Your role involves simulating real-world scenarios to understand customer interactions with the RHOAI platform. You will provide critical insights, ensure product-wide quality, and collaborate with product management and stakeholders to prioritize user-impacting issues. What You Will Do:

  • Contribute to the architecture, design, and testing of the RHOAI platform, ensuring alignment with user experience objectives.
  • Drive innovation in the MLOps and AI application development domains by actively engaging in upstream communities, sharing insights, and integrating best practices.
  • Ensure that functional requirements are met, prioritizing the delivery of a robust and user-friendly experience.
  • Implement "testing like a customer" by simulating real-world MLOps user experiences using RHOAI features, particularly in combination.
  • Conduct usability tests in close collaboration with software engineers to validate product quality and ensure seamless user interactions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by sharing recommendations and technical knowledge with team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Work with product management and cross-functional teams to analyze and clarify business requirements, ensuring that user needs are prioritized in development efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to provide transparency regarding quality initiatives and progress, including follow-ups on outstanding user-impacting issues.
  • Conduct thorough and timely code reviews to uphold high-quality standards and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Contribute to automation testing based on insights gained from exploratory testing of user-impacting issues.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proficient in testing applications using Go, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Experienced with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other cloud-native technologies.
  • Skilled in usability testing and User Experience Design (UXD).
  • Demonstrates the ability to rapidly learn and utilize new tools and technologies.
  • Familiar with source code management tools, such as Git.
  • Possesses strong system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in building or utilizing AI products, with familiarity in Red Hat OpenShift AI, OpenDataHub (ODH), and other projects/products, including Databricks, Vertex AI, Anaconda, Pachyderm, and Amazon SageMaker.
  • Knowledgeable about the AI and machine learning landscape, including open-source communities, GPUs, and software vendors.
  • Understanding of core MLOps concepts.

The Following Will Be Considered a Plus:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred; however, practical experience and technical expertise are prioritized.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the functioning of Open Source and Free Software communities.
  • Experienced in development for public cloud services, including AWS, Google Cloud Engine (GCE), and Azure.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity. You must have the legal right to work in the UK or Europe and there might be the possibility to work remotely however candidates that are open to relocate to Ireland are preferred
