£500.00 per day Umbrella

6 Month Contract (potential extensions)

**Security Clearance (SC) Required for this role**

Our client within the defence space is currently searching for a Data Migration Engineer to join their team! They are looking for someone to come in and support on the migration from their current infrastructure over to SAP.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and document legacy systems used within the business, including spreadsheets, databases, and other tools that may not be widely known within the organization.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, from first-line supervisors to directors, to understand how these systems are utilised.
  • Capture detailed information on system usage in a structured manner.
  • Analyse and document data structures and the data contained within these legacy systems.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights within the legacy systems.
  • Develop and implement data engineering solutions to integrate and streamline data from legacy systems into modern platforms.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the migration and integration processes

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of legacy systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data integration and migration solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Asset Management Systems (i.e. Maximo, IFS, Elipse, etc)
  • Preferable to have experience from Rail, utilities or Defence background
