In order to be successful, you will have the following experience:
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
- AWS certification (AWS Certified SysOps Administrator is highly beneficial)
- DevOps engineering experience or certification
- SC Cleared as a minimum
Within this role, you will be responsible for:
- Advanced AWS Infrastructure Management: Take the lead in the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS resources, including EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 storage, VPC, and other critical components.
- Security and Compliance: Champion the implementation and monitoring of security best practices and compliance standards, safeguarding the integrity of cloud-based systems
- Identify opportunities for advanced performance enhancement and cost optimisation within AWS environments, driving the necessary changes to ensure efficiency
- Implement and maintain sophisticated monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively detect and address issues within cloud infrastructure
- Formulate and oversee comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solutions to guarantee data continuity and business resilience
- Collaborate closely with the DevOps team to lead the automation of routine tasks, develop infrastructure as code, and streamline deployment processes
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of AWS-related incidents
