Oracle Architect - Installation, Integration & DBA | MUST BE DV CLEARED | Hybrid
Overview:
Are you an experienced Oracle Architect and Database Specialist with a strong background in hands-on installations, integrations and environment upgrades? Do you thrive in complex, on-premise infrastructures and bring confidence working with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN and Red Hat systems?
Our client, a key player in a critical national programme, is looking for a senior Oracle expert to lead environment upgrades and installations, bringing robust SME-level knowledge to drive stability, performance and future-readiness.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading on the installation, integration and configuration of Oracle 19c environments (upgrading from 12c)
Working directly with physical Red Hat 8 servers and VMs (non-cloud environment)
Troubleshooting complex installations and performing partitioning, RAC and Data Guard configuration
Managing performance tuning, RMAN backup and recovery, and high availability solutions
Supporting database migrations using restore/backup and config alignment
Collaborating with the lead architect to challenge and refine third-party design documentation
Producing high-quality installation/configuration documentation that withstands technical scrutiny
Key Skills & Experience (Mandatory):
Extensive Oracle Architect / DBA experience
Oracle 12c to 19c upgrade and install experience
Hands-on configuration from initial boot to full integration
Deep understanding of:
Oracle RAC
Oracle Data Guard
RMAN
Performance tuning
Partitioning
Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills
Experience working in non-cloud / physical Red Hat Linux environments
Desirable Skills:
Ability to critically review and challenge 3rd party architecture/design documents
Strong documentation skills - creating installation/config guides that meet audit standards
Working closely with technical leads and architects to align delivery with architectural intent
