Trainee Supportability Engineers

If you have a degree in a science, technology, or engineering-related discipline, or if you have relevant experience in engineering and a genuine passion for advancing your career in Supportability/ Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), this could be the perfect opportunity for you. A Supportability Engineer applies Engineering concepts and theories to deliver the development of designs, calculations and technical solutions for the company's products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle.
We are looking for systems-thinkers who can be trained and developed to work on a variety of projects focused on delivering support to the UK's nuclear deterrents. You will be part of our customer's multi-disciplined team ensuring that equipment is reliable, maintainable by the end customer's existing support staff and infrastructure and optimised to meet system availability requirements.
The Experis Academy programme is an 8-week intensive training course that combines in-person instructor-led classes, scenario-based learning, and practical application workshops. You will receive market leading training covering systems and supportability engineering fundamentals. The curriculum also includes essential soft skills such as teamwork, facilitation, and communication, preparing you for a 12-month placement as an Experis employee.
During your placement, you'll apply your skills in a real-world environment, with ongoing support and mentorship. After completing the 14-month training programme, depending on performance, you may be offered the opportunity to transition to a permanent role with our customer, equipped with the knowledge and experience needed to contribute to one of the UK's most high-profile and complex engineering projects.
Day to Day Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Logistic Support Analysis
- Develop Integrated Supply Support solutions
- Liaising with Inventory Management
- Produce and review Technical Documentation
- Development of Maintenance Planning
- Identification of Support and Test Equipment
- Identify suitable Packaging Handling Storage and Transportation
- Conduct and manage Disposal
- Management of Obsolescence
To fit the minimum criteria to apply, applicants must possess the following attributes:
- Be a driven individual who wishes to make a positive impact and a desire to see successful outcomes
- Strong communication and interpersonal functional skills
- Taking ownership of problems whilst working diligently towards resolution
- Proactive worker with capability of operating with minimal supervision
- Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers and stakeholders
- Eligible and willing to undertake security clearance
