They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full-Stack Developers to join their team in the public sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on crafting innovative and efficient solutions for government-related projects. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining web applications that meet the unique needs and challenges of the Defence and security sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust web applications for public sector projects.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Create responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies and frameworks.
  • Develop secure and efficient server-side logic using various languages and frameworks.
  • Implement security best practices to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and collaborate to address vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain well-documented RESTful APIs for seamless system communication.
  • Work with project managers, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to gather feedback and align with project goals.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must hold UK security clearance to Developed Vetting level.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more relevant technologies.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in modern front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong skills in server-side logic using languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling for government applications.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions for public sector challenges.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements in the dynamic public sector environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with government processes, policies, and systems to tailor solutions to public sector needs.
  • Understanding of UX principles to create applications that are accessible and user-friendly for government officials and the public.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain well-documented RESTful APIs for seamless system communication.
  • Experience with implementing and adhering to security best practices for government data.

Candidates who are of a contract basis, this is a permanent role and there must be a good reason for your to want to convert into a permanent hire. They have had bad experiences with contract to permanent hires in the past so please expect if you apply, to be asked for a fairly good reason - and not "because there's no contract work out there". This position would ideally suit someone who is looking to move either into a bigger company or sideways from there current large company.
