Job Title: DV Cleared Technical Business Analyst

Location: Bristol

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with DV Clearance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business analysis, process improvement, and requirements management, with the ability to operate effectively within an agile environment. As part of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders to help shape, analyse, and implement innovative solutions that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Enterprise and Business Architecture:

    • Understand and apply the current target operating model to your work, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Develop and optimize enterprise and business architecture frameworks.
  2. Business Process Improvement:

    • Analyse existing business processes and services to identify opportunities for optimization.
    • Use techniques such as gap analysis to evaluate and establish requirements and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
  3. Business Case Production and Options Analysis:

    • Develop comprehensive business cases that justify proposed changes, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments.
    • Conduct thorough options analysis, identifying the best approaches for business improvements.
  4. Business Analysis:

    • Investigate business problems, analyse service and system requirements, and develop solutions that meet user and stakeholder needs.
    • Provide actionable recommendations, working closely with stakeholders to define objectives, opportunities, and potential benefits.
  5. Requirements Definition and Management:

    • Source, manage, and define business and technical requirements, ensuring clear documentation.
    • Work with stakeholders to set priorities for complex change initiatives and handle changes to baseline requirements.
  6. Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    • Identify and manage key stakeholders, tailoring communication strategies to meet their needs.
    • Facilitate consensus-building among opposing views, and use evidence to make decisions and explain them to stakeholders.
  7. Agile Development Support:

    • Collaborate with Agile development teams, writing detailed User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria as required by the Product Owner.
    • Occasionally take on the role of Product Owner, managing backlogs and defining priorities.
  8. Business Process Modelling:

    • Produce a variety of models, including but not limited to:
      • Activity Diagrams / Business Process Models
      • Data Models (Class Diagrams)
      • State Transition Diagrams
      • Use Cases
      • Wireframes
  9. Testing (Business Analysis):

    • Review requirements and specifications, defining test conditions and assessing potential issues and risks.
    • Analyse and report on test activities, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or gaps in requirements.
  10. Change Management:

    • Develop Change Management Plans to support new initiatives and ensure smooth transitions.
    • Support the communication and implementation of changes across the business.
  11. Training and Support:

    • Develop training materials to support end-users in adopting new business processes and systems.
    • Deliver training sessions and offer ongoing support to ensure the successful implementation of changes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • DV (Developed Vetting) Clearance is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on technical analysis and business process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and business process optimisation.
  • Experience producing business cases, options analysis, and working with stakeholders to assess and implement new solutions.
  • Expertise in requirements definition and management, including working with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and manage requirements for change.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and working in Agile teams, including the ability to write User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Ability to create a variety of business models, including activity diagrams, use cases, and data models.
  • Experience with testing methodologies and conducting test analysis to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Expertise in developing Change Management Plans and training materials for end-user adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and resolve conflicts.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in public sector or defence-related industries.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc.).
  • Familiarity with business analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
