Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager
£475.00 per day Umbrella
6 Month Contract
Bristol (Hybrid, at least 3 days per week on site)

Our client is currently searching for a Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager to join their team in Bristol. This role plays a critical part in the progress and achievement of business unit growth through provision of analytical and commercial support for projects/bids as well as owning and driving the billing and revenue recognition. Internal and external FP&A, risk & control management and customer interfaces are also central to succeeding in the role

Responsibilities:

  • Steward, drive and partner with the Business. In particular the Bus. Dev team to support opportunity, whilst holding the business to account for commitments.
  • Ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with, and in the spirit of, local legislative requirements, and enhance and protect our client for now and the future. This will include driving delivery of the financials including P&L, Capex, billing, and debt management etc.
  • Bring clear understanding of, and application of contractual mechanisms to financials, becoming a trusted advisor to commercial and technical teams.
  • Provide timely action orientated financial reporting relevant to performance of the business unit, including stages of lead to cash.
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategy for the unit by working with the team to provide insights and key reports, aligned to the FP&A strategy for the CFU / CU.
  • Use data analytics - identify opportunities to use data analytics to make better decisions. Deliver process, systems, or tool changes to improve our data analytics capability.
  • Continuous improvement of finance processes and systems - Anticipate and recognise obstacles in work processes between teams and make suggestions for ongoing productivity improvements.
  • Accounting principles - Apply accounting principles (and where relevant financial statements), procedures and systems in complex and unique scenarios including contract accounting.
